A Day Workshop in the Meisner Technique
Led by Mark Wakeling
(Co-Founder, Teacher and Actor of The Actors Temple, London)

Formed and run by two actors, Mark Wakeling and Ellie Zeegen, The Actors Temple exists to inspire, support and empower actors. The studio theatre in the West End and the technique you will experience in this workshop is a respite from the strains and demands of everyday life; a place where you are free to truly be yourself on purpose and create exceptional work under ideal conditions.
Sanford Meisner (1905-1997) is virtually unknown in the UK and Italy. Yet he was the teacher and mentor of several generations of American actors who have given us mesmerizing movie performances.
The Actors' Temple is constantly developing the Meisner technique, training actors and directors to achieve truthful, spontaneous and credible performances on screen and stage.

The Day Workshop is unique, rewarding and 100% practical.
The Workshop will provide:
· A brief historical context of the Meisner Technique
· Basic building blocks of the technique
· Practical applications of the work
Simple exercises taught throughout the day will:
· develop inner-confidence
· enhance your ability to truly listen
· help you to communicate and empathise deeply
· inspire you to realise your full potential
Date: Saturday 28th February 2009
Time: 10-6pm
Venue: TBC
Once in a very long while, just when you'd almost given up hope, something comes along to remind you why it is you do what you do. Philip Wolff
