RESEARCH CENTRE OF NEW TECHNOLOGIES APPLIED TO THE PERFORMING ARTS

About

The research centre of new technologies applied to the performing arts and to teaching theatre came into being in 2015 when the Laboratorio di Robotica Percettiva PERCRO of the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna di Pisa and the Accademia Teatrale di Firenze began a partnership.

Team

Prof. Massimo Bergamasco, Dr Marcello Carrozzino and Dr Chiara Evangelista provide the scientific supervision for experimental testing undertaken with the students of the Accademia directed by Pietro Bartolini on the application of new learning methods for future actors and performers.

Virtual Theatre

The team of the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna di Pisa created the CAVE (a prototype of a virtual theatre) where the results of the scientific research in performances in virtual environments were presented to the press and a select audience.

Tests, performances and press releases

The great traditions of teaching theatre and stage performance combine with robotic technologies and immersive visualization thanks to experts in the field.
